How to Build Confidence

January 3rd, 2010

Confidence is a personality trait that is very useful in life and manifests in many ways. Your confidence will affect almost everything you do. Think about it, every decision you make requires a thought, and it is this specific thought that will guide you through action. Now if your confidence is weak, your action will be weak.

Think about the first time your drove a car. You weren’t sure how it worked or how fast it goes. So you started going at it gently and delicately in fear of making mistakes. After a while, you got used to it and started going at it more comfortably. There are however people who never get past that stage of lack of confidence. They are still and always scared they will do something wrong.

The lack of confidence of these people does not limit to driving. Having lack of confidence in anything at the early stages is normal, but when confidence never develops with time, there is a problem. This will manifest in your life, at your job, when you’re with friends, when you take financial decisions, etc…

Trying to build confidence when you never had any is hard, but not impossible. You need to remember to love yourself and make yourself feel good. Being in a bad mood never helps and we’re always more energetic when we are in good moods. Any negativity must be left away.

Think and visualize yourself winning and being right. During a conversation, there is often someone who is taking the lead and doing all the talking and the other one who just listens and makes few interventions. This is because one believes in himself and the other one is shy and scared of saying something in fear of being wrong. The fear is not justified, but is merely a lack of confidence. Unless the conversation is about skills such at math or science, there is no reason to think that the person in front of you is better. There is no right or wrong opinions, and for this reason you should not be scared of stating yours.

Facing your fears is the best way to build your confidence. Do what scares you. Most the time people know that there is no real danger in doing what they fear, but they are scared anyways. Try to make your logic overcome your fear by taking action. So if you’re wondering how to build confidence, be active!

Improving Your Social Skills

June 6th, 2009

It’s all great to have a lot of success in your life and making a lot of money, but what’s the point of it if you have no one to share your success. Would you really like to have millions upon millions of dollars if your life was limited to spending all your time to your business or your work?

It is of utmost importance to have a good network of contacts, and more importantly, friends. You should always have in mind that making new contacts is very important. It is moments that we spend with other people that leave the greatest memories and bring the most happiness.

But you see, no matter how important socializing is, it seems that a great number of people have let it aside. There are more and more surveys and studies that show that today, more than ever, people are spending more time alone. They spend their time watching TV shows, they surf on the internet for hours everyday, they listen to music alone, they play video games, etc…All these activities are fun and they each have a place in our life, but it is not a reason to seclude ourselves from the rest of the world.

For many, they have spent so much time alone that they almost forgot how to socialize; they almost don’t think about it and live their life alone. Others have concentrated so much time and effort to their finance that they spend no more than just a few minutes a week with their friends.

The best way to improve your social skills is to simply practice it. Go out there and meet new people. Take your phone now and call a good friend who you haven’t spoke to for some while and try to connect back. Start little at first; just try to connect with 1-2 people every week. Before you know it, you will have built a good network in just a few weeks.

As you practice, your level of comfort will grow. You will start visiting new places, making new friends and attending even more social events.

In order, here are the steps to a better social life.
1) Realize how important it is to have a social life.
2) Start small to building relationships.
3) Practice and keep practicing

Sharing your life with other people brings fun and happiness. At the minimum, we all need at least a few hours of socializing every week where we can forget all of our problems in our life and just having a good time and fun with friends.

Investing In Knowledge

March 28th, 2009

Improving yourself is the best way to spend your money. Everyone knows that knowledge is power, so instead of always buying the latest gadgets or spending your money on useless articles, invest in knowledge!

Save the money you were going to throw away, and instead invest on books, ebooks, magazines or seminars. Here, you aren’t investing in the sense of buying books to sell them later, but rather on spending say $50 on a book that will in give you the important useful knowledge you need to improve yourself and therefore make more money or be happier in the future.

Most books are complete junk. The author’s sole purpose is trying to make quick sales and then write another book and so on just to make quick money. However, the are many legitimate books and products that can help improve yourself like nothing else.

A great way to find these kinds of resources is to go on Amazon. Type in the keyword you are looking for, and then most importantly, read the user reviews. This will give you a great idea from honest customers if the book is worth your time.

An example of a book you can buy could be on productivity. If you just know that you are not productive, think about the benefits of a book that can teach you techniques of becoming more productive. These books are goldmines. If you could improve your productivity by 2 or 3, this could quite literally mean that you can effectively increase your income by 2 or 3. Then you can go and spend your extra income on all the accessories or clothing you wanted.

I find that a great place to start investing in yourself is with Anthony Robbins. I have a few books myself from Anthony Robbins, and frankly his products are amazing. He is a guru in the field and his products are as good as it gets. He has anything from books to audio CDs to seminars. If you don’t want to look around much and go directly to quality products that will enhance your life like nothing else, look no further.

Making Money Online Not So Easy!

April 27th, 2008

Some people would say that making money online is easier than ever, while other will say the exact opposite, that making money online is harder than ever!

Which side is correct? There are clear arguments for each position. People who say it’s easy would point out sites like PayPerPost , which is getting more and more exposure everyday for its ability to generate money for low traffic blogs. If you register at PayPerPost, and get your blog approved, there are many opportunities which any site with any PR and Alexa Ranking could apply for. Granted, they may only be for $5 or $10, but it all adds up, and if you think that you are getting paid for your blog that has low traffic or even very very low, it’s not a bad deal. Of course, there’s many other ways to make money too, like Adsense or direct advertising.

And this is where the other side comes in. The other people would say to make money you need traffic, but today, there are so many websites that it is extremely hard to make more money from the internet. And if you think about it, it’s kind of true. There are almost 15 million blogs born everyday, and it is considered a slow down. BlogTalk made the analyze. This means that if you just came into the blogging scene, you have joined a group of 15 million people just like you, and this is only today. Tomorrow, another 15 million will join, etc…In fact, before you even entered, there were already hundreds of millions of blogs already running. If this isn’t competition, I don’t know what it is.

Of course, all these people don’t have the same goal, some will just want to share interesting stories while others will want to make money, but all of them want traffic.

So is making money online today harder or easier than ever? I will say that neither is right, it just depends on how you look at it and more specifically, how you actually deal with it. For example, there are numerous blogs out there that deal with technology, and if you’re going to be just another one of these blogs, it will be very hard to compete. Unless you enter the arena with a little twist, maybe you can talk about technology with an interesting style, maybe you can do it with your experience.

Another way to look at blogging is to enter a niche that interests you but that many people didn’t talk much about. For example, you can start a tutorial blogging in an area you are very skilled at. This would explain why there aren’t many blogs about it since not everyone has your skill, and your blog might interest a huge amount of people. In this way, you have a vast audience and little competition, and you might actually think, “Wow, making money online is easier than ever.”

eBay Selling 101

March 28th, 2008

If you are a regular internet user, you have probably made use of eBay at some point or another, or you have at least heard of people making money selling on eBay. By shopping on eBay, one is quick to realize those PowerSellers. Ever imagined how these people have over 10,000 items sold? And are yet selling on eBay hundreds of items at a time everyday? Yep, these people got a knack of it and know how it works and how to make money on eBay.
They aren’t rare as there are many PowerSellers in every possible category on eBay, each having their own niche. You can make it big in almost everything on eBay, selling make-up can be as profitable as selling jewelry. A common mistake beginner sellers do is to overlook at basic concepts as they want to get rich quick. If you want to succeed at selling on eBay, not only do you need a good plan, but patience is also a must, and always keep in mind that you are competing against other people. You probably guessed that you aren’t the only one selling on eBay, and every possible category has been already covered by someone, but remember that the internet is ever growing and that there is room for everyone.

-Take Clear and Clean Photographs
Most beginners do not give a lot of importance to the photography of the items they are selling, when it should be on their top priorities. Can there be any bigger turn off than an unclear, dark and grainy picture?

-Develop your feedback
When you start, what you want to do is gain trust with your buyers, so don’t start selling expensive items like expensive electronics when you only have 5 feedbacks.

-Start by selling a few household items
This is a good place to start increasing your feedback on eBay, and at the same time your experience. If you have used items that you don’t need and that are still in “okay” conditions, instead of throwing them away, sell them on eBay. Along with the feedback, you’ll get a feel of making money on eBay.

-Regularly research your market and new ones
Like affiliate marketing, selling on eBay is no different. There are markets that are hot and other that are not so hot. Finding and exploiting certain markets until they drain is a good way many use on eBay.

- Don’t Sell Overly Popular Items
Another newbie mistake is to just sell whatever everyone is doing because if everyone is doing, it must be good, right? Wrong. It’s not because you see thousands of similar items for sale that everyone is making money with them, they are trying, but what’s telling you they are succeeding on eBay? Use your common sense and your good judgment.

-Be professional in all matters
Consider selling on eBay like a real business and your buyers as clients, after all, that’s what they are. You need to be professional in everything, especially when are in contact with them. Always answer an inquiries on time and politely. If you are using phone contacts, use proper language and sound professional and organized. Talk to them as you would like a professional seller to talk to you.

-Don’t Sell Too Small or Too Big
Unless you just found a very profitable market, selling too big or too small is often a looser. If you are selling a $4 item, chances are shipping will cost as much or even more, would that make sense to you if you were the buyer to pay twice the price of an item? Selling anything less than $10 or $15 will always make customers think again when they see the shipping price. Another thing is do not sell too big. This time, not with the price, but the actual size of the item. Selling items that are hard to ship like heavy bulky equipments has never been a good seller.

As you may have wondered, these tips won’t make you the next eBay millionaire, but if you are beginning to sell on eBay, following these tips will make your journey on making money on eBay a little easier.
